Reminder

Every now and again we are reminded that we're human. Yesterday the awesome power of nature was on display, hail, rain, thunder, lightening and tornadoes. There was nothing we could do to stop it, all we could do was watch and await the beauty and destruction that is the storm. If you're reading this now and you live in these parts, that means you survived it. If you don't live in these parts you still made it.

If you're going through a storm of nature or a storm of a different kind, remember you're human and that you can call on that higher power (for me God) to see you through the storm. Remember you're not alone, you don't have to do it all by yourself.

Clutter

Goes both ways. When your environment is cluttered, thoughts, worries and concerns about clearing it clutter your brain. A cluttered brain doesn't allow you to fully function in your environment, regardless of its state. Unclutter your mind, so that you can live fully and create the uncluttered environment that you desire. Clutter isn't always stuff, it is anything that is unnecessary and/or blocks you from living and participating fully in this thing called life. Would you like to dump some clutter today?

Mindful

I woke up this morning. It's a good thing to be able to see and hear and taste. It's a good thing to feel and move and breathe. It's an even better thing to have a living mind that let's me know I am doing all of these things. The UNCF says "a mind is a terrible thing to waste". There are many minutes, hours and days when my mind has been wasted focusing on trivialities and worries. Today I practice mindfulness. Tomorrow I practice it and the next day and the next and the next. By doing so, I believe that I will live more fully, live more NOW. Care to join me?

Clarity

When my brain gets foggy, and I need to sort it all out to make decisions, I've found that turning it over and over and over again in my mind doesn't lead to a good decision, if any at all. When I let my brain and my body rest, it is my spirit that takes over and brings clarity to any situation.

Spirit, clarity and then action.

Seek Beauty

Beauty is not always obvious. Because our beauty lens is based on a framework that may not even be ours, beauty can be easily missed. Seek beauty today in the places where your old lens says it shouldn't exist. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Reconciling Truth

There is beauty in truth because it simplifies, it stands on its own and is irrefutable

There is discomfort with truth, when it doesn’t fit within your personal paradigm

There is no emotion in truth but,

Truth elicits emotion

How is it all reconciled?
